Linda Brewer (opened Brewers Sewing Machines in 1958) celebrates her 103rd Birthday!

Linda has it all sewn up at 103 years old!
Happy Birthday Linda!!!
Her she is with daughter Kathleen and lots of Birthday cards and flowers!

and with Son-in-Law, Alan.

Linda Brewer who opened Brewer's Sewing Machines on 528 Dudley Road, Wolverhampton with her husband Roland in 1958

Linda celebrates 103rd birthday today (8th February) surrounded by family and friends.

Mrs Linda Brewer's daughter Kathleen and son-in-law Alan took over the business which moved to 458 Dudley Road in 1972 because of a road widening scheme. Linda has 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She still takes a great interest in the shop and likes to be kept informed of what's new! She remembers way back when in the 1960's 1970's we supplied Janome Industrial Sewing Machines to local factories making anoraks and jackets.

This is Linda in the 70's in the current workshop.

These days as well as service and repairs we supply many schools, colleges and universities with new sewing machines and overlockers, as well as local craft, patchwork and quilting groups.

Need to have your sewing machine serviced?

Would you continue to drive your car for years and never have it serviced? Of course not, you know that eventually, it would cease up and cost a fortune to fix.... and even then it may not be worth it! (I learnt this the hard way in my 20's, never serviced my second hand Escort, and one day it started smoking and the engine had given up.... I sold it for £50 scrap... and continued to pay it off my loan for two more years! Never again!)

Well, it's the same with a sewing machine. We recommend you should have your machine serviced every one to two years, depending on how regularly to use it. A £50 (price varies on the type of machine) service could save you ££££ in the long run and keeps your machine working to it's best ability. We also recommend you clean your sewing machine regularly at home.... just look at the fluff that can get into bobbin area.... cleaning this can make your machine work so much better.

Many of our stockists will service any make and model of sewing machines, just give them a call to find out a price for your model.
Here's just a few stockists below that are happy to help....
