In September, we ran a Test Drive day for ladies thinking of buying the Janome Horizon 7700QCP, and what a wonderful time we had. What could be better.. a play on the new machine... and a biscuit or two at the same time!
Everyone loved the new Play and Pictograph stitches, and look at the size of the extension table that comes with it....a really necessity when working on big sewing and quilting projects.

Horizon Project Workshop @ Couling Sewing Machines in Lincoln

Couling Sewing Machines is a true family business.
Alan has been in the sewing machine trade for over forty years and established his own business in 1982. Carol, his wife, is a fully trained demonstrator and offers free tuition on all machines bought in the shop. A few years ago, their son, Steven joined the family business, and has full engineer training... and of course, plenty of machines to gain experience on! Today, we ran a Test Drive workshop, for ladies who are thinking of purchasing the Janome Horizon 7700QCP. Alan couldn't help seeing what the ladies were making...

And Carol used the chance to spend some time on the machine, and make a lovely sample for the shop!
All the ladies had a wonderful time... and some enjoyed it that much... they had to order the machine there and then!

The first wekend in September is the annual Harrogate Quilt Show http://www.grosvenorshows.co.uk/html/Northern_Harrogate.html and this year, for a change, the weather was beautiful! Visitors had the chance to sit outside and soak up the last rays of sunshine for summer 2010! I was working with Phil from White Rose Sewing and Craft centre, who has a shop in both Harrogate and Wetherby. We had a display of Janome machines, and Phil also had a selection of Horn cabinets for customers to see close up as well.

Breast Cancer Awareness Competition with Justhands-on.tv and Janome

Janome UK have been supporting the Breast Cancer Charity for many years, but this year, we went one step further and bought out a Limited Addition Sewing Machine with the pink ribbon logo, and we donated 10K to the charity earlier in the year. This is a charity close to our hearts at Janome, as many of our colleagues have been effected over the years, and this was our way of trying to help a good cause.
The Breast Cancer Charity machine is available for purchase through our Stockists, and is a entry level computer machine with 30 stitches. Ideal as a starter machine, but also a great machine for taking to classes. Janome have teamed up with Justhands-on.tv to promote a Breast Cancer Awareness Competition, where the first prize is the Breast Cancer Charity sewing machine. To enter the competition, please follow this link, http://www.justhands-on.tv/videos/win-a-janome-bcc-30-sewing-machine-or-fabulous-threads-from-madeira/

Justhands-on.tv is the UK's first on-line TV website devoted to patchwork, quilting and mixed media textile arts. Why not click the link below and let Valerie Nesbitt and Jennie Raymond tell you all about it,
