Birmingham School of Sewing offers a wide range of sewing classes, including soft furnishings, alterations, dressmaking, pattern drafting, corsets and knickers, tailoring and bridal. Also, regular workshops on getting to know your sewing machine and overlocker for beginners.
In August The Birmingham School of Sewing is opening it's doors every Tuesday and Sunday as a Sewing Cafe. The School has Janome sewing and overlock machines for you to use, on your unfinished sewing projects, or maybe something you have been meaning to start for ages.

The sewing cafe will be open every

Tuesday 10am - 4pm and Sunday 12 midday to 3pm.

As well as the machines, you will have access to large cutting table, and professional pressing equipment. So, if you are a beginner or have been sewing a long time... why not have a day out with some friends... get creative and enjoy free tea and coffee at the same time??

A bit of history about S Nutt Sewing Machines.....

Richard from S Nutt Sewing Machines has written a few words about the history of the family business......

"After over sixty years trading at the same shop in Alum Rock, Birmingham, S Nutt Sewing Machines has moved to a new shop in Nechells.
We've been trading here for a year and going from strength to strength. A lot of our loyal customers have followed us to our new location. We are the third generation to be selling and repairing sewing machines.
Our grandfather started the business after originally selling pianos. His son, Steve Nutt, took over next. Now the shop is run by us, his two sons Tony and Richard, though dad still comes in to help.
The family are proud to be selling a wide range of Janome sewing machines including the Janome MB4 model. After 60 years this Birmingham sewing machine business is still adapting and developing. This year will see the launch of our new website, showcasing Janome products to an ever-growing customer base.
