Knitting & Stitching Show @ Harrogate with White Rose Sewing & Craft Centre

The Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate is our last one of the year, and it always has a Christmasy feel to it. This year was no exception, lots of customer were looking for new sewing machines for themselves for Christmas gifts, or for daughters and friends. The stand is ran by Phil from White Rose Sewing and Craft Centre in Harrogate, and Janome staff to support him.We had (nearly!) the full range of Janome sewing machines on demonstration, from basic sewing, computerised, embroidery, overlockers and embroidery design software, along with a great selection of Janome feet and accessories for your machine. With the huge interest in free machine embroidery, thanks to Kirstie Allsopp's Home Made Britain, we sold 100's of darning feet so people can have ago at home! In the online chat after the programme was aired, Kirstie said she had a Janome machine at home for her personal use! Way to go Kirstie!!!!
Of course, we had our new Horizon Memory Craft 12000 on the stand, which was busily showing people fabulous big embroideries in its Grand Hoop (11.9" x 9.1"!!). Click on the photograph to go to my You Tube Channel and see some little videos of the machine in action.
Jennie Rayment, star of Justhands-on.tv was running mini make and take workshops making gorgeous Christmas Stockings on the Janome CXL301.
All the ladies were having a great time playing with our computerised sewing machine..and making a pretty little stocking to take home as well! The CXL301 has some beautiful stitches to embellish craft project.

Horn Cabinets @ Harrogate Show

When you sew... do you get stuff everywhere?? Your machine on your dining room table? Pins on the carpet? And when you have to tidy up.... where does it all go??
How about a Horn Cabinet?? These are so useful to keep all your sewing essentials tidy and easy to find, a safe place to store your sewing machine and overlocker and an easy Aitlifter! What could be better??

Gok Wan @ Harrogate!

This year at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate we had an extra special guest.... Gok Wan!!
Gok has been busy around Harrogate all week and has done a wonderful Gok make-over on four beautiful post ladies! On Friday night we were invited to watch one of his new Gok's Roadshow being filmed in the old theatre in within the exhibition hall.

Alison (from Fabulous Fabrics / School of Sewing who is also exhibiting at the show) and I, enjoyed the show and the glass of wine went down well after a very busy day!

Knitting and Stitching Show @ Harrogate November 2010

This week is the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate. This is a huge event for crafters, with four halls of fabric, beads, wool, sewing machines and all things crafty!
We have got an extra special visitor this year as well...Gok Wan! He is running Fashion Fix's throughout the the whole show!

Here's me, any chance I have I'm on the Janome Horizon!
Phil from White Rose Sewing Machines is exhibiting Janome Sewing Machines, (he's the one playing with the Janome overlocker), and Maureen, (below) Morag and I to support him.

As always, Janome has wonderful display of samples to show off the features of our machines, and this show is no exception! These beautiful examples have all been made on our new Janome Horizon. The quilt and cushion has been made Lesley Brankin, and the pattern for the cushion can be found on our main website, just follow the link on the right hand side of this blog.

White Rose Sewing and Craft Centre was established in 1979 is a friendly, family run sewing machine business based in Harrogate and Wetherby.

Harrogate Quilt Exhibition with White Rose Sewing & Craft Centre

The first wekend in September is the annual Harrogate Quilt Show http://www.grosvenorshows.co.uk/html/Northern_Harrogate.html and this year, for a change, the weather was beautiful! Visitors had the chance to sit outside and soak up the last rays of sunshine for summer 2010! I was working with Phil from White Rose Sewing and Craft centre, who has a shop in both Harrogate and Wetherby. We had a display of Janome machines, and Phil also had a selection of Horn cabinets for customers to see close up as well.

Sandra, (with me in photo below) who loves Janome machines and has been a long time customer of White Rose, took the opportunity to take a look at the new Janome Horizon... and who knows... she might add it to her collection!
