Horizon Day in Ashby de la Zouch...

Fabulous Fabrics is a haven for dressmakers! This shop has everything you will need for dressmaking, from wool suiting's, summery retro prints, stretch lingerie laces... and all the trimmings you will want to match as well.
Alison Smith, the owner of Fabulous Fabrics, also runs Alison Victoria School of Sewing in the class rooms above the shop. She specialises in bridal, tailoring, corsetry and lingerie classes, and runs various classes to City and Guilds status. The shops has a wonderful "drapers" shop feel to it, and you will love having a mooch around the fabrics and trimmings.

On Thursday I ran a Horizon Test Drive for ladies who are thinking of buying our new machine, and everyone had a great time playing with the new stitches, and trying out all the wonderful features of this long arm quilting machine.

Fantastic window display I had to share with you!

I was visiting Glasgow last week, and while I was doing some retail therapy on late night shopping on Thursday evening.. I walked past this fantastic shop display in All Saints window on Buchanan Street.
The whole window is full from top to bottom with old, vintage metal body machines! They are bolted together and the effect is just breath taking! So many people were stopping to look at the display and I was hearing comments like... that's just like my old granny's machine... my mum just to have one like that!
The weather was so sunny and I could only take photographs on my mobile phone, so it might be difficult to see the machines with the reflection on the glass.

But, what a fantastic display! So, if you are in Glasgow over the coming weeks... go and have a look! I'm sure you will enjoy it!

Test Drive of the new Horizon @ Bambers Sewing Machines

Last week Bambers Sewing Machines in Eccles ran a Test Drive day on the Horizon 7700QCP. This was a chance for ladies who are thinking of buyer the machine to have a "hands on" session and Test Drive the machine, as you would Test Drive a new car!
The Horizon has lots of wonderful features, such as the adjustable knee lift you can see below,

and the huge clear extension table for supporting your quilt when you are sewing.
The new Play Stitches look beautiful when stitched out using the Janome Border Guide Foot (this foot is included with the Horizon 7700QCP), and the ladies just fell in love with the little bobbin of thread and dress form embroidery stitch!
